"Following the Zeroverse course I had a deeper understanding of the science and scale of the climate emergency. Most importantly, I felt empowered that through my own actions I can make a difference. The course was tailored perfectly to our group and Kate guided the themes, conversational flow and group work masterfully. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to make a positive impact within their spheres of influence."

"The Project Zero course helped me to better understand the main sources of GHG emissions and get inspired from best practices and decarbonization success stories. The worldwide examples provided in the course are very useful to develop the action plan to decarbonize our workplace. I would totally recommend this course!”

"The course raised my awareness of issues relating to embodied carbon and how we can mitigate our environmental impact as a sector, as an organisation and individually. It's directly changed my behaviour and I'm more conscientious about my actions than I was before.”

"I found the Project Zero course a much-needed introduction to sustainability initiatives taking place in research institutes around the world. Kate was an excellent course leader: she challenged us, inspired us, and was always willing to go the extra mile in providing extra resources we requested.”

"The Project Zero course was a starting point for me to engage our lab and the whole research institute in sustainable activities. Importantly, the course helped me to connect with people who are interested in solving problems in sustainability. Now, we run a sustainability committee and results are starting to show already!"

"The training Kate delivered was great. Being generally quite eco-conscious I wasn’t sure how much more I’d learn but there was plenty of opportunity to dig deeper and build a solid level of knowledge and evidence. Developing the action plan really help with this too. Kate was really friendly and helpful - I’d totally recommend the Zeroverse training."

"The Zeroverse Carbon Literacy Training that Kate Whitfield facilitated for our group in Ireland was fantastic. The information presented was excellent, Kate kept the conversation on track and with detailed feedback. Overall, the training helped our Irish study abroad community really think about our carbon footprint, and develop ways in which we can work towards carbon neutrality. Thanks Kate and Zeroverse!"

"It ticked all the boxes for me. I came away more energized, informed, and conscientious about global climate change and what I can do within my sphere of influence. The pacing was very good, with some mini-lecture mixed with feedback from us and breakout rooms”

"Kate has a real knack for communicating important issues related to climate change and keeping the participants engaged. The workshop was factual and relevant. Highly recommended!"

"The carbon literacy course delivered by Zeroverse and taught by Kate Whitfield was hugely worthwhile and enjoyable for several reasons. The course is taught virtually, and Kate is a master of the format. She was consistently encouraging and supportive, and she presented the content imaginatively which kept us engaged throughout. My seven course classmates from six different countries, representing a variety of fields, were soon made comfortable enough to share their unique perspectives and we all learned from each other. The class feel was intimate and energetic. Although I am not new to many of the components contained in the teaching of carbon literacy, I learned a great deal from the course which I was able to employ in my takeaway Action Plan. What I learned on the course felt very practical and implementable. I commend Zeroverse and Kate Whitfield for providing a thoroughly worthwhile educational experience about a tremendously important subject."

“Zeroverse training gave me that extra energy kick I needed to make my climate actions more impactful, in the private and professional sphere. Acquiring/spreading environmental awareness can be a harsh process, but the training taught me that gathering the right tools can make it a stimulating and rewarding one as well.”

"Following the Carbon Literacy course by Kate at Zeroverse I changed my attitude towards and feeling about climate awareness. Prior to the course, I often felt demotivated after reading stories about how things were going downhill due to human activity. This demotivation resulted in me being ignorant (not reading those stories anymore) and thinking: "what am I as a single person going to contribute anyway". By creating an action plan and thinking about creative ways in which my organization could become more green and climate aware, my point of view slowly began to change. Talking to others in the course about their action plans also inspired me and made me aware that there are others who are willing to act, even though their personal contributions will remain relatively small. Instead of looking at a world where humans primarily ruin things, now I visualize our role as initiators of a new world that is sustainable, green and aware. My attitude is now far more positive and motivated than prior to the course, which I am truly thankful for."

"It is never too late to learn and act! I am grateful for the opportunity to have trained in the Carbon Literacy Course delivered by Kate Whitfield at Zeroverse. I was more familiar with the infectious diseases and other public health impacts from climate change as an Infectious Diseases physician, but really wanted practical and actionable training on carbon literacy and climate action. Kate is excellent at delivering key content clearly and skilfully while artfully facilitating discussion and reflection. Her patient and calm demeanour enables a ‘safe’ virtual space conducive for open group discussion and peer-learning. My fellow course-mates and I came from different countries, contexts, and organisations on various stages of the ‘sustainability continuum’. We all felt inspired by the many examples of positive change shared during the course and conceived our own unique climate action plans. This is indeed a journey and we all have a part to play - I recommend you consider the Carbon Literacy Training Course as a key step in your journey."
